This photo of my family was taken as a Christmas Picture in late 1989, after my younger sister (the “pearl”) was born.
We were trying to make a rainbow with smoke bombs for our pregnancy announcement. The plan was for my husband to light them really fast then take a picture in front of them. We didn’t know this picture happened till days later going through all the pictures. We realized it looked like my husband…
My parents took me to a Halloween autograph session with ‘Justice League’ superheroes. Now that I look at it 30 years later I find it quite creepy, particularly Spider-Man.
Jamais vu une photo non photoshopée qui ressemble à ce point à une photo photoshopée
This is a photo of my dad (far right) and his three brothers. I guess the photographer couldn’t find a larger prop to set them on, and instead had them straddle and squeeze in.
It was 2002. We had taken in a young man who needed a place to live. Our own children were working hard to maintain their own individuality in a culture which prided itself on ‘sameness.’ So, we took the opportunity to have a family photo taken.
My grandmother, who is pictured in the photo, sewed all of the clothes and made the hair bows as well. This was a picture for all of the women in the family around ‘95 and I guess we all needed matching outfits." @michelleblocher
Not sure what we were thinking but it seemed to be a good idea at the time. It’s become a running family laugh…and a threat from my wife every time she goes to the fabric store.” @crittercountry10

My dad Larry opened one of the first cell phone stores in Houston Texas and was known as “the cell phone kingpin.” I wish you could have seen the commercial that ran with him on a unicycle.
My mom, bless her soul, absolutely loved her dustbuster and thought all of us should have one for Christmas. We all posed with her and her trusty old one.
This is what happens when you sneeze during an Olan Mills Christmas picture session. And yes, my parents still used this as our Christmas card. And I have no explanation for the color scheme.” @brookeeecoleman
Me, shortly after delivering my twins and with horrible nausea and vomiting from the anesthesia and my husband thought it was the perfect time for a photo.” @achave2
I have no explanation for this photo. Nor for my somewhat over-sized Kurt Cobain t-shirt, or why I’m the oldest child in the room. The other kids look a little scared. Very odd.”
My grandma had a old toilet in her backyard for years. One day someone decided to put the baby inside the toilet. It seemed like a good idea at the time…”
This is a photo of my parents and all of our heads: four daughters and their respective families. My Dad loves photography, and recently purchased a green screen so that our family photos could miraculously be in any lovely location in the world. This one, however, highlights the fact that he might…
I grew up in Alaska. When we traveled to the lower 48, I always got asked the same questions. 'Did I live in an igloo?' 'Do we only eat moose?' 'Do we travel by Dogsled.' I always like to pull this picture out and say 'Yes to all the above.'
My father insisted that all of us must begin lessons in karate after The Karate Kid came out in the 1980’s. His pride in our accomplishments led to a family photo.”
My girls and I. The whole family went for church directory photos and the photographer decided to be ‘creative’ with us. My husband is very much alive and well, but this photo screams ‘Dad is dead!'
